PUT YOUR COMPASSION INTO ACTION
How animal agriculture impacts the planet
Today, we're becoming more aware of how our clothes impact others. While many of us might know the impacts of fast fashion, the reality of how the clothes we wear impact animals might still be somewhat unknown.
Focus on Fibre Week aims to raise awareness about some areas you might not know about and provide practical ways to create positive change for animals, the planet and your health.
Take action and make change: for good

ACTIONS FOR INDIVIDUALS
Put your compassion into action
As an individual, it can be easy to feel powerless to create change. In reality, each of us has the power to shape the world we live in. It's not that we can make a difference in this world; it's that through each decision we make, we do make a difference. The question is, do we want that difference to be harmful or helpful? If you'd like to be a part of creating a more compassionate world, the good news is that there are lots of ways you can take action; here's a start:
Put the chicken before the egg - Stand up for hens and spare millions of day-old male chicks by swapping eggs for kinder alternatives. Download our action pack to learn about replacing eggs in your diet and also, the impact you'll make by doing so!
Ditch Dairy - Dairy is not only awful for animals, it's impact on the environment is devastating. Today, plenty of plant-based alternatives to dairy products allow us to have the familiar pleasures; of milk, ice cream, and, yes, cheese without harming cows and treading much more lightly on our planet. Download our action pack to learn about replacing dairy in your diet and also the impact you'll make by doing so!
Save the world by going Vegan - A stretch? Maybe, but let's not understate the impact you'll make by becoming vegan.
Each day you choose to eat plant-based options instead of meat, dairy and eggs, you'll:
-
spare the life of 1 animal,
- save 4,163 litres of water
-
save 9kg of CO2e
-
saved 18kg of grain
-
save 3.7kg of forest
-
reduce your contribution to animal agriculture-driven water pollution
-
align your actions with your existing values of empathy, compassion and justice
Over a year, that adds up to 365 animals, 1.5 million litres of water and 3,285kg of climate warming gases.
